Q. What do you study and where?
Anagha: I am pursuing an Integrated MSc in Biomedical Sciences at NMIMS in Mumbai.
Q.Who was your PI and what was your host institute?
Anagha: Dr. Karthik Subramanian at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology served as my Principal Investigator, providing invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout my internship.
Q. What was your Internship project work?
Anagha: The internship project involved performing the isolation, purification and characterization of extracellular vesicles, primarily. This involved use of techniques such as cell culture, EV processing and Western Blot. I also got to be part of other experiments such as siRNA based silencing of certain EV marker proteins.

Q.How did you enjoy working on the Internship Project?
Anagha: The opportunity to work on an actual research problem was exciting and exhilarating! The project helped me understand the entire research process- from conceptualization of an experiment, designing its protocol, testing it and tweaking it, to complete optimization. It helped me appreciate that research is a collective effort and never led by a single individual.
Q. How was your experience attending the NGS Internship Program?
Anagha: I had a great time during my internship wherein I learned new techniques, got plenty of exposure to the ins and outs of a research lab, and experienced new things, all made easier due to the stipend provided by the Internship program.
Thriving in her internship, she learned, explored, and grew with program support.
Q. How was the city you moved in? Did you face issues?
Anagha: Trivandrum boasts stunning sights and rich cultural experiences that beckon exploration. I wish I could have spent more time exploring it!
Q. Would you recommend your fellow students to apply to NGS Internship Program?
Anagha: I wholeheartedly recommend my fellow students to apply to the NGS Internship Program without hesitation.
