Q. What do you study and where?
Keshav: I am a B.Pharmacy student from Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda.
Q. How was your experience attending NGS Internship Program?
Keshav: This internship gave me life-changing dedication and provided me with an environment to work in, where I got to learn new techniques or skills every day. Words are not enough to thank Next Gen Scientist Foundation for providing me with such a great opportunity and for their financial support throughout this internship. I learned many things; most importantly, my proficiency in English speaking also improved due to this internship.
Q. Who was your PI and what was your host institute?
Keshav: I am also always thankful to my PI, Dr. Chandraiah Godugu, Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hyderabad, for his guidance and support.

Q. What was your Internship project work?
Keshav: My internship project was, Exploring the therapeutic potential of minocycline in treating LPS-induced ARDS model in the BEAS-2B cell line. I have completed my research project and gained hands-on experience in western blotting, cell culture, various assays like MTT, DCFDA, and AO/EB staining techniques. I also studied and performed animal handling, their sacrifice, and nitrate assay.
Q. How did you enjoy working on the Internship Project?
Keshav: I am really thankful to all the lab members of Dr. Chandraiah and the seniors. They always helped in every situation and boosted my confidence to work consistently. There is nothing like senior and junior; they always treated me like a younger brother and helped me in every situation. I irritated them with my doubts, but they never opposed my words and always gave answers to all my questions and doubts.

Q. How was the city you moved in? Did you face issues (If applicable)?
Keshav: Hyderabad is the city where I completed my internship, and the experience was really fantastic. Hyderabad is truly a well-developed city in India. I had heard about it, but when I explored various places, I really felt that this is one of the great cities in India, having every facility—metro, various opportunities to work in all types of sectors, including corporate, part-time, full-time, and government sectors. There are so many tourist places to visit, and I also visited some great places in Hyderabad like Birla Mandir, Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, NTR Garden, and many famous shopping centers and malls.
Q. Would you recommend your fellow students to apply to NGS Internship Program?
Keshav: I highly recommend all students to apply for the Next Gen Scientist internship to gain such great exposure.
Q. Any other comments/observations/suggestions you would like to share?
Keshav: This internship also helped me enjoy the culture of South India, and I was able to taste South Indian food on a daily basis in my PG.
