Q. What do you study and where?
Hirul: I study MSc in Biomedical Science at the prestigious University of Delhi.
Q. Who was your PI and what was your host institute?
Hirul: I worked under Dr. Nirmalya Sen at Bose Institute in Kolkata.
Q. What was your Internship project work?
Hirul: During my internship, I focused on the role of the ETS transcription factor isoform p27 in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of cancer biology and provided practical research exposure.
Q.How did you enjoy working on the Internship Project?
Hirul: I found working on my internship project immensely gratifying. The laboratory environment remained calm and conducive to learning, allowing me to thrive.
Q. How was your experience attending NGS Internship Program?
Hirul: Participating in the NGS Internship Program marked an extraordinary chapter in my academic career. This opportunity empowered me to achieve remarkable milestones. The financial support from NGSF alleviated my expenses, enabling me to focus entirely on my research.
Q. Would you recommend your fellow students to apply to NGS Internship Program?
Hirul: I wholeheartedly recommend the NGS Internship Program to my peers. I have already encouraged several junior friends to apply, as this opportunity can significantly impact their academic paths.
Q. How was the city you moved in? Did you face issues?
Hirul: Kolkata captivated me with its rich history and cultural diversity. My experiences there—especially the culinary delights and unique lifestyle—proved exceptional. Although I faced some challenges during my journey related to travel, the overall experience remained unforgettable.
Q. Any other comments/observations/suggestions you would like to share?
Hirul: Overall, I had an overwhelmingly positive experience. My journey instilled resilience in me, and I hope to help others navigate any challenges they face.
